The SurgeryThe walls are a bleached white. Hideous and with an annoying lack of creativity. The man beckons for me to follow. I do. We are soon in another bleak room. "Sit." He says. I obey. "Lay down." He commands. I slowly ease my back onto the cold table. A surgical light nearly blinds me. I hear a drill somewhere. I wonder when the anesthesia will come. It does not.
